The park is on the banks of the river Ilm



Goethe had a thteatre and ballroom built, of which only the ruins remained




This pavillon belonged to the open-air stage


Goethe also had his summer residence here



The big building above it used to be military barracks


In the spirit of classicism, a "Roman house" is also in the park



Memorial to the visit of the Dessau prince (at that time they didn't know that the Bauhaus will move to Dessau less that 150 years later.

The park was actually romantic

Schiller moved here on the invitation of Goethe and was assured a quiet life for creation after a stormy period in his life


         





     He could afford nice dishes anf furniture


He could work - the last paper he has seen is still on the desk















Most of the furniture is of the era but did not belong to the poet
